A Mourning Before Dawn
I look at your picture, your smile, the warm sun glinting
against your face.
But the exuberance of your youth shown forth far more brightly than any
mere reflection of the sun.
Your eyes, closed, held secret the golden dreams of your youth.
What act of cruelty is it that these now lay locked forever ?
These Dreams hidden forever untold.
Your face, which once sought out the warmth of the sun, finds now only
the coldness of the clay.
A better fate you surely deserved, but all that you have found is my
pen, my paper, and my tears.
